Rules of Sale

The 2023 Small Works, Great Wonders Art Sale will open Friday, November 10 at 6:00 p.m. Each person purchasing a ticket for the sale will receive a ballot book containing one ballot for each work of art.

The purchaser has from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. to drop their signed and numbered ballot into the box by the art they wish to purchase. At 7:00 p.m. a salesperson will draw two names from the ballot box and post them on a large card near each work of art. The first name posted will have 20 minutes to reach the salesperson and pick up the bill of sale to confirm the purchase.

Once the sale is confirmed the seller will write “SOLD” on the card. If the first individual has not claimed the piece during the initial 20-minute period, the second name is eligible to purchase the art for the next 20 minutes.

For sculpture with multiple castings available, the first name drawn will receive the work on display. Additional names will be drawn for remaining castings available.

At 7:40 p.m. unsold works will be available to purchase on a first-come, first-served basis.

Only the person whose name is on the ballot can pay for the art.

Payment in full must be completed the night of the sale. Checks are to be made payable to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards are also accepted but will incur a fee of 3% of their total invoice.

*Please Note: Buyers shipping/picking up artwork in the state of Oklahoma must pay Oklahoma state and local sales tax (8.625%). Change in shipping address post-sale may result in additional sales tax fees at buyer’s expense. Sales tax exemptions must be presented at the time of purchase.

Purchasers are encouraged to take their artwork with them at the close of the event. However, shipping arrangements can be made by contacting Whitney Batres at (405) 838-1953 or [email protected].

Unsold art will remain available for purchase through November 26, 2023. Contact Persimmon Hill at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum at (405) 839-7831 or [email protected].
